About the Role

As Teacher of Science (Chemistry), you will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a strong focus on Chemistry. There may be opportunities to contribute to KS5 depending on experience and timetable.

You will deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops:

  • Secure understanding of core chemical concepts and scientific thinking

  • Strong practical skills and safe laboratory routines

  • Data handling, application of knowledge and evaluation skills

  • Exam confidence through modelling, deliberate practice and precise feedback

Students study key topics including atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, energy changes, rates, equilibrium and chemical analysis. Lessons are structured to be challenging and accessible, supporting learners with different starting points through effective scaffolding and stretch and challenge.

The Science Department

The Science department is supportive and well-organised, with a shared commitment to strong outcomes and consistent practice. Teachers collaborate closely on planning, share resources and use common assessment strategies to ensure students build knowledge over time and are well prepared for GCSE.
