The Research Scientist is an integral part of the Injury Control COBRE research team designing research studies, preparing grant submissions and conducting research with scientific integrity.
Research Responsibilities: The Research Scientist will be responsible as either a principal investigator (PI), or designated by another PI, to ensure that accurate and efficient data is collected and that adequate and appropriate measures are taken to ensure the reliability and validity of collected research data. The Research Scientist will take the lead in preparing and presenting research protocols and revisions to the hospital institutional review board (IRB), supervision of all aspects of the operations of research protocol, and overseeing the maintenance of the research protocol. The Research Scientist will regularly present the progress of designated research studies to the relevant PI, Co-Investigators and as needed to Department Research Committee, IRB, DSMB and funding agency. The Research Scientist will be involved in developing and preparing research manuscripts for publication.
Required Qualifications: The candidate must have a MD or PhD in medicine, public health, psychology or related field and have experience in research protocols, data management, data analysis, and research writing skills. The candidate should have relevant personnel and project management experience. The Research Scientist should at minimum meet qualifications for appointment at Alpert Medical School of Brown University at the Assistant Professor level.
