Job Description

Our client has identified Metro Ethernet and Cell Backhaul services as a key area of growth. This individual will be a primary stakeholder in making critical decisions on Commercial Ethernet and service products, specializing in access layer technologies. This individual must be familiar with key technology trends in the Metro Ethernet Service industry.
This individual must have hands on experience on IP/MPLS network to be able to make key contribution on product, switches and routers selection and technology roadmap development.
The ideal candidate will have experience on Ethernet products, network architecture and configuration in supporting those services. In addition, this individual has strong background in OSS integrations design and development to IP/MPLS networks.
The individual would play an SME role across Commercial Services matrix organization and provide designs, development, testing and sustaining for service design and provisioning, service activation, and service assurance of Ethernet products.


Core Responsibilities
• Design and administration of multiple network products on large networks in production business, and carrier environments
• Design of carrier network products for national ISP.
• Configuration, testing, and debugging advanced routers utilizing complex routing tables, running RIP, OSPF, ISIS, and MPLS (LDP, RSVP-TE, MP-BGP).
• Configuration, testing, and debugging of various CPE products including Cable Modems, Ciena, Juniper, and Cisco edge and aggregation devices
• Configuration, testing, and debugging BGP in a production carrier environment with multi-protocol extensions, configuration of switches and bridges utilizing multiple flavors of spanning tree, 802.1Q, 802.1ad, LACP, Ethernet OAM, and CFM (including Y.1731).
• Design and implementing and automating OSS systems for network products


Qualifications

Must have:
• 8-10+ Years’ experience within commercial data service providers Telecommunications space
• Proven experience working with service provider networks in a technical lead capacity for Ethernet and IP/MPLS product or platform.
• Expert on large scale Cisco and Juniper based IP/MPLS networks design, provisioning, and operation
• Hands on experience on configuring Cisco and Juniper IP routers
• Experience working on network monitoring and service level reporting solutions
• Experience in engineering product delivery methods and procedures.
• Ability to create complex collaborative technical documents







Nice to Have:
Extensive Ethernet Network Engineering experience.
