The Department of Chemistry at High Point University invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Chemistry to begin in August 2025. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track appointment. Instructors have an opportunity for promotion to Senior Instructor after 5 years. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in organic chemistry, with potential to teach general chemistry and general education science courses. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with other faculty on curriculum development, pursue professional growth opportunities related to teaching, and contribute to the department, school, and university through service. An advanced degree in chemistry or closely related field is required by the time of appointment.

The Department of Chemistry (www.highpoint.edu/chemistry/) offers B.S. degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, as well as a B.A. degree in chemistry. A significant number of students at High Point University are preparing for careers in the health professions.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education 

  • M.S. in chemistry or related field. 

Experience and Training 

  • Teaching experience in chemistry, with preference for organic chemistry teaching experience.
