Financial Analyst/Accountant

Experienced accountant or financial analyst is necessary with focus on cost accounting & financial reporting. Candidate must have Bachelors Degree in accounting or Finance (CPA/CMA/MBA a plus).

  • 1-3 years experience

    Must have ability to look at data from high level, and reach conclusion on accuracy/completeness based on overall data picture and knowledge of divisional business practices. Must be able to quickly learn new systems.
    Works under supervision of, and reports directly to, Aggregate Spend Manager. Must manage large volume of data with high level of review. Develops analysis of data for review by Manager.
  • Interacts with divisional business contacts, divisional and corporate OEC, and corporate finance. Individual must excel at several core competencies to be successful, including: ability to adapt quickly to changing demands in the department; effective communication with team members and customers; demonstration of high work ethic in order to maintain the confidentiality of information and the initiative to follow through on items and make suggestions to management as appropriate.
    Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in order to meet deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently/prioritize constantly changing workload while paying attention to detail. Excel and Access skills needed.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:

Review and analyze data to be submitted to the Federal government to comply with the Sunshine Act. Must identify issues, analyze data and reach conclusions.

Review a  % of 50-state data: Run monthly reports/queries for new data entries in assigned areas (by state or by data source); review data, focusing on criteria specifically important for the Federal reporting law such as Spend Purpose Code and Description mismatch, absence of expenses that would be expected to occur in conjunction with reviewed expenses, selection of product or activity type that does not match the expense owner's usual activities, unusually high-dollar expenses, etc.; where necessary, request detailed backup information from division contacts, evaluate the transaction, draw a conclusion about the accuracy of the data, and make any necessary edits in CS, while maintaining record of activities (note reviewed records and edits, correlate to the final report that would be run each month). Must follow up with divisions to facilitate timely provision of data and other information. Responsible for making high-level conclusions about the accuracy and correctness of data based on experience and understanding of legal requirements, IT systems and divisional business process

Qualifications

Must be a US citizen or Greencard holder

1-3 years experience is preffered

Strong Financial Analyzing and Accounting background

degree in accounting or finance

CPA/CMA/MBA is a HUGE PLUS
