Basic Qualifications


Education/Training: B.S. degree in a related field of study preferred; specialized financial analysis training.


Skill(s) for Analyst I: Clearly communicates in English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; basic knowledge of current lending and loan review regulations and banking regulations, procedures, and operations; basic ability to analyze and interpret financial statements; moderate PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; visual and auditory skills.

Experience for Analyst I: A minimum of one (1) year’s related experience normally required.


Experience for Analyst II: A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Credit Analyst normally required. In addition to the preferred experience requirements, promotion from a Credit Analyst I to a Credit Analyst II is contingent upon the incumbent's ability to effectively perform multiple tasks, duties, and jobs throughout the division or department.


General Responsibilities

Responsible for performing various duties to support the credit analysis function; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for the credit analysis function; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

Essential Duties for Analyst I & II


  1. Performs various duties to support the credit analysis function of which the following are illustrative:

a. Receives data on prospective and active borrowing accounts, i.e., financial statements, agency reports, and interview and investigation sheets.

b. Analyzes data and evaluates the short- and long-run prospects of the individual or company.

c. Utilizes loan origination system to prepare loan presentations containing information on the amount, terms, and structure of the credit requested, as well as information on the borrower regarding open and/or related borrowings, depository information, etc.

d. Identifies strengths and weaknesses regarding the granting or denying of loans; prepares sufficient information to document recommendations, if assigned to a lending function.

e. If assigned to the loan review function, may suggest a loan grade after conducting a thorough credit analysis and documentation review.

f. Provides thorough documentation of all financial analysis work, including ratios, risk rating, and other related information.

g. Ensures that all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with prescribed lending policy.


Additional Essential Duties for Analyst II:

a. Analysis and presentations will include loans that are more complex in nature.

b. Performs appraisal reviews.

c. Provides leadership, on-the-job training and technical guidance to Credit Analyst I(s).


2. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.

3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.

4. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

5. Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

7. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
