DigiChem Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Chemistry Technician to join our growing synthetic chemistry team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical laboratory practices, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude toward supporting daily lab operations. This position is critical to ensuring the smooth functioning of our research and development workflows and maintaining the highest standards of lab safety and cleanliness.

Our Chemistry team is building and operating a highly advanced custom synthesis facility, leveraging AI and deep integration with physical hardware to perform chemistry on demand and easily scale to manufacturing. We handle the complexities of chemistry so our customers can focus on developing great products.

The Job

In this role, you will be responsible for daily support to synthetic chemists by cleaning and washing glassware, performing routine quality control analyses (FTIR, NMR, TLC), assisting with column chromatography, maintaining lab cleanliness and inventory, organizing chemical storage and waste disposal, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols in all basic laboratory operations, with a consistent presence in the lab five days a week. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide daily technical support to synthetic chemists in routine laboratory operations.
  • Clean, wash, and properly store laboratory glassware and equipment in compliance with safety and contamination control protocols.
  • Conduct routine quality control analyses using techniques such as FTIR, NMR, and TLC.
  • Assist with preparative column chromatography under the guidance of senior chemists.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables and supplies; report shortages or reordering needs.
  • Ensure proper labeling, organization, and disposal of chemicals and waste in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Perform basic laboratory chores, including maintaining cleanliness of workstations, fume hoods, and common lab areas.

You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with common analytical instruments such as FTIR spectrometers, NMR spectrometers, and TLC techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of purification methods including column chromatography.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
