Position Summary

As a Credit Analyst, you will play a vital role in evaluating the financial health of farming operations and supporting the credit approval process. You will analyze tax returns, balance sheets, income statements, and other borrower-provided documents to assess risk and inform loan structuring. Working closely with Account Managers and the underwriting team, you will help design financing solutions that align with producers’ operational goals while adhering to credit policy and portfolio standards.

 

You will also assist with credit memos, risk ratings, and ongoing monitoring of borrower performance throughout the life of each loan. This role requires strong attention to detail, financial acumen, and a commitment to supporting long-term client relationships through data-driven analysis. This position reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Review: Review and spread financial statements, tax returns, and borrower documentation
  • Document Review: Review financial documents (e.g., income statements, rent schedules, pro forma budgets) and requests for invoices or payments to ensure expenditures are within loan terms.
  • Communication: Keep co-workers informed of loan status, provide updates, and assist with loan budget adjustments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers and underwriters to facilitate efficient loan approvals. Assist loan accounting with AP and AR processes for originated loans.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies in loan applications or documentation and communicate resolutions to appropriate parties.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to sales and operations staff with professionalism throughout the loan application and servicing process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing and refining processes, procedures, and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.  Provide suggestions and feedback for further technological development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Evaluation: Prepare clear, concise credit memoranda with recommendations for lending decisions
  • Analytical Skills: Evaluate the creditworthiness of producers and ag-related entities
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with financial software and Microsoft Office; experience with Smartsheet preferred
  • Leadership: Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and professional development.

  • Based in St. Paul, MN (In-person)
  • Typical office environment with standard office equipment usage
