Martin/Martin is looking for an experienced civil senior project engineer to join our Denver, Colorado office. The position will provide opportunities for civil design throughout the Front Range of Colorado as well as nationally. A successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong technical, project management, and client communication skills.

The Team
Our civil engineering teams focus on site and infrastructure design, including leading projects such as the 16th Street Mall redesign in Denver.
Responsibilities
- Assist in master planning and conceptual design.
- Assist in fee determination and proposal preparation.
- Assist with monitoring design budgets and project schedules.
- Serve as point-of-contact with Clients, Contractors and other design disciplines.
- Manage multiple engineering projects from start of design through completion of construction.
- Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers and CAD technicians.
- Utilizes AutoCAD/Civil3D to design, detail, and coordinate medium to large size projects within time allotments and within project budgets.
- Attend project meetings during design and construction.
- Provide quality-control check of work produced.
- Provide project construction administration support including shop drawing review, responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), and field observations.
- Monitor project budgets and reviews and/or approves invoicing to clients.
- Participate in collection and account receivable efforts.
- Works overtime, when necessary.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering/architecture curriculum
- Registered Professional Engineer
- BS plus a minimum of 4 years of progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year)
- 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Demonstrates leadership abilities beneficial to the company’s future
- Consistently meets established financial metrics
Desired
- Min 7 years’ experience in Construction Management/Utility Design
- Min 4 years’ experience with PE license.
- Managed numerous projects from start of design through construction.
- Knowledge or proficiency with Civil3D, StormCAD, FlowMaster, WaterCAD, AutoTurn.
- Knowledge of site entitlement processes of jurisdictions within the greater Denver Metropolitan area
- Construction field experience.
- Shows interest in participating in company initiatives/goals.
- Excellent time management and organizational and management skills with technical staff on multiple, simultaneous projects.
- Successfully managed multiple projects and followed them from project development, through all design phases, to construction completion and closeout.
- Demonstrates strong field observation and written documentation skills
- CDOT direct or Local Agency experience
- CDOT Construction Inspection, Erosion Control, and/or Traffic Control certifications
- Hold and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license
Working Conditions, Skills, and Abilities
This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
- Identify color
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Compensation
The wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
- Base Salary: For individuals hired in Colorado, a reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $105,000 to $127,500 annually.
- Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin’s annual base salary increase review process.
- Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.
Base salary review and increases, in addition to annual bonuses, are dependent on various factors, including a hired individual’s job-level and annual company performance.
