Description

The role is primarily responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and effective administration of internal affiliate retrocession. This includes overseeing the processing of volumes, premiums, and claims, while maintaining a high standard of data integrity. The position also plays a key role in driving process enhancements and promoting a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging robust systems and operational best practices.



Responsibilities
  • Defining and documenting policies and procedures for business processing, and outlining system enhancement requirements to support these processes.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
  • Ensuring business processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal control standards.
  • Supporting changes that align with the organization’s reporting and data needs, particularly for performance analysis and management reporting.
  • Assisting in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for exception handling.
  • Managing and resolving complex business issues through research and collaboration with cross-functional teams across geographically dispersed locations, while effectively communicating status and implications throughout the organization.
  • Acting as a liaison with key operational leaders and staff to provide strategic and functional input and ensure coordinated work efforts.
  • Staying current with industry standards, corporate policies, audit procedures, and regulations, and communicating their impact to internal operations and leadership.
  • Leading cross-functional activities with a focus on internal retrocession.
  • Supporting system enhancements, including gathering requirements and conducting user testing related to internal retrocession volumes and premiums.
  • Performing financial validations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Configuring Retro Pool and Retention Stack setups.
  • Validating retrocession setup data for new treaties.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a preferred focus in Finance or Economics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data formatting.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, with the ability to run and modify queries.
  • Strong working knowledge of system connectivity and the interplay between functional and cross-functional processes.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data integrity.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with proven problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated credibility and knowledge within the insurance and audit industries, with the ability to proactively identify risks and control issues.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of high performance and peer recognition.
  • Proven ability to lead and implement change initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ability to maintain a process-focused approach while effectively engaging stakeholders across departments.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Operations, IT, Actuarial, Legal, and Senior Management teams in a geographically dispersed environment.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.

Pay Range for roles performed in NC: $79,000 - $96,000 base salary per year. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives. In addition, we provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement saving plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
