JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a critical control role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and regulatory defensibility of enterprise data and reporting across the Bank.
The role serves as a trusted authority on management, financial, regulatory, and law‑enforcement reporting, translating complex business and control requirements into auditable, reconciled, and insight‑driven BI solutions, while leading advanced Power BI visualisation standards for senior management and external stakeholders.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with stakeholders across Business, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance to understand reporting needs.
- Translate business and data requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Own reporting delivery end‑to‑end, from intake through production.
- Lead the design of executive‑grade Power BI dashboards with intuitive storytelling, performance narratives, and actionable insights.
- Define and enforce Power BI visualization standards, including KPI definitions, layouts, drill‑downs, and user experience consistency.
- Translate complex financial, risk, and operational data into clear, decision‑ready visual narratives for senior management.
- Balance self‑service enablement with strong governance to prevent metric drift and misinterpretation.
- Own end‑to‑end data assurance, ensuring consistency between source systems, data warehouse, and published reports.
- Perform and evidence GL‑level reconciliations for balances, interest, and fee income used in management and regulatory reporting.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve material data discrepancies in partnership with Finance, Risk, and Technology teams.
- Ensure BI outputs withstand audit, regulatory, and external challenge without rework.
- Design and maintain the enterprise data warehouse and business data marts supporting BI reporting.
- Build optimised dimensional models for multi‑tool BI consumption.
- Ensure end‑to‑end data flow from source systems to final reports.
- Govern semantic layers and metadata to enable controlled self‑service analytics.
- Automate reporting processes to reduce manual effort and close cycles.
- Implement automation for data refresh, access control, and scheduling.
- Drive Power BI self‑service adoption within governance standards.
- Adhere to BICC standards, data governance, and security policies.
- Ensure timely delivery with no unmanaged backlog.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and senior management queries with clear data lineage.
- Deliver financial, regulatory, and law‑enforcement reports supporting internal management, external regulators, auditors, and enforcement agencies.
- Ensure reporting outputs meet strict standards of accuracy, traceability, completeness, and evidentiary quality.
- Maintain clear data lineage and reconciliation to source systems to support audits, regulatory inspections, and investigative queries.
- Act as a key data point of contact during regulatory reviews, audits, and law‑enforcement data requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Strong hands‑on experience with BusinessObjects 4.3, Microsoft Power BI, and SAS Viya.
- Experience in data warehousing, ETL processes, and dimensional data modelling.
- Advanced SQL skills with exposure to Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, Informix.
- 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and enterprise‑level data warehouse initiatives.
- Proven experience delivering banking, finance, risk, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of banking products, accounting standards, and control environments.
