Project Delivery Risk Manager RTS QLD

QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast. 

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Project Delivery Risk Manager to join our team. This role proactively manages project risks and opportunities throughout the delivery lifecycle to meet project goals and contractual commitments. It involves working with internal stakeholders to identify and address risks, support mitigation efforts, and help projects achieve target margins and financial objectives. Success depends on collaborating with risk owners to provide timely support for risk reduction and opportunity development.

 Experience, skills & knowledge:

• 7 to 10 years risk management experience. Rail industry experience is desirable, although not mandatory
• Experience in managing risk across the full project lifecycle – from initiation to closeout
• Demonstrated success in supporting margin improvement through risk retirement and opportunity realisation
• Experience in facilitating risk workshops with delivery teams
• Ability to translate technical delivery risks into actionable mitigation plans
• Advance experience with R&O management tools and PBI reporting (e.g. ARM, @risk)
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools and their integration with risk registers (MS Project, P6)
• Delivery excellence, project management, DMM, operational understanding, delivering construction, maintenance or service contracts and / or project management office type roles assisting the business with performance improvement. Extensive market and sector knowledge of Downer.
• Solid understanding of project management and control.
• Knowledge of contractual risk management and processes.
• Skilled in commercial management, contract interpretation, and legislation.
• Advanced analytical, planning, and financial budgeting abilities.
