The Role – Head of Chemistry

As Head of Chemistry, you will lead a dynamic department that consistently achieves outstanding academic results. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the department’s Schemes of Work
• Overseeing assessment and student progress, ensuring every student meets their full potential
• Leading and supporting staff, including mentoring NQTs and coordinating CPD
• Developing enrichment opportunities such as Oxbridge preparation, lectures, and revision sessions
• Maintaining high standards of discipline and student behaviour within the department

The ideal Head of Chemistry will be:

• A graduate with a strong honour’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
• An outstanding classroom practitioner with a passion for Chemistry
• Experienced in leading a team or ready to step into a leadership role
• Skilled in assessment, curriculum planning, and student progress tracking
• Committed to delivering high academic standards in a selective setting
