JOB SUMMARY:
The FP&A and Business Intelligence Analyst plays a key role in supporting the company’s strategic and operational decision-making by delivering data-driven insights through financial modeling, business analysis, and performance reporting. This role partners closely with FP&A leadership, Support Center teams, and field operations to analyze business performance, identify trends, and develop data-backed actionable recommendations that drive growth and efficiency.
The position sits at the intersection of financial planning, business analytics, and operational performance analysis. The role requires working across multiple operational, financial, and membership data sources, structuring and reconciling datasets to generate clear and reliable insights. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial and Operational Analytics
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and opportunities for margin and growth improvement.
- Evaluate membership growth, pricing, retention, and overall revenue performance across regions, clubs, and programs.
- Support strategic initiatives such as pricing optimization, new product or program rollouts, and membership strategy development.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions, providing clear data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
- Partner with FP&A leadership and cross-functional teams to measure the effectiveness of business initiatives and support strategic decision-making.
- Analyze the impact of pricing strategies and promotional campaigns on membership joins, retention, and customer lifetime value.
Forecasting and Planning
- Assist in developing and maintaining robust financial models, forecasts, budgets, and multi-year business plans.
- Analyze business trends and performance drivers to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Develop scenario planning, sensitivity analyses, and ROI models to evaluate potential outcomes related to pricing, promotions, ancillary revenue streams, operational initiatives, and club performance.
Reporting and Performance Dashboards
- Develop and maintain recurring financial and operational reporting, including:
- Business unit financial performance
- Variance analysis
- Labor productivity metrics
- Membership and customer trends
- Executive dashboards and management reporting
- Build automated, self-service dashboards and analytical tools that provide timely, visual insights into key performance indicators business wide.
Data Integration and Process Improvement
- Work across multiple operational, financial, and membership data sources to develop a unified and accurate view of business performance.
- Build scalable, repeatable data reporting and analytical tools using Excel, SQL, and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Identify opportunities to automate data collection, improve data workflows, streamline analytical processes, and enhance reporting efficiency.
- Support the integration of financial and membership data from new club openings, acquisitions, or program expansion initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Business Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or a related analytical field.
- MBA or master’s degree in related discipline is a plus but not required.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, business analytics, consulting, or a similar analytical role.
- Experience working with large, multi-source datasets and building analytical models.
- Experience in a multi-unit, subscription-based, or consumer-facing business is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Expert-level Excel skills required, including building complex financial or analytical models using advanced formulas for large datasets.
- Experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, or similar BI platforms is highly preferred
- Ability to design, structure, and maintain analytical datasets used company wide.
- Strong capability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights and compelling visualizations that support decision-making.
- Working knowledge of Python or similar analytical scripting tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-powered analytics, machine learning, or modern data workflows is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This role is onsite at the Support Center in Orangevale, California. Team members will also periodically travel to visit clubs and meet with field leadership to better understand operational performance and support analytical initiatives.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sit for extended periods of time. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Team members are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; occasional reach, push and pulling with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and occasional reach and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
